Does the treatment requires general anaesthesia?
Even though it is suggested to have some anaesthesia prior the treatment, the decision to have local or general anesthesia is between you and your doctor.

How long will the results last?
As with any aesthetic treatment, there are many factors that influence each result performance. Life style, quantity injected according to physical limitation, age, health conditions and so on.
Our follow-up data of treatments performed in 62 patients in Germany and France do show a duration up to 24 months of Variofill® for Gluteal Augmentation with no need of a second session.
However your doctor may recommend a treatment plan to achieve the desired results.
Is there any side effects?
As any aesthetic procedure with dermal hyaluronic acid each patient may react differently. The side effects associated to Variofill® for Gluteal Augmentation include and are not limited to:
Inflammatory reactions, redness and edema that may be associated with itching and pain. Local bleeding or hematoma in the injected area.
Allergy to hyaluronic acid, indurations with nodule building among others.
In order to diminish the side effects, your doctor may advise the intake of antibiotic or anti-inflammatory treatment before and after the injection.
As possible adverse events: Granuloma, urticaria, necrosis, non-thrombotic pulmonary embolism have been described in the literature after hyaluronic acid injection.
Is there any post-injection care recommendations?
Yes. We have compiled a list of recommendations together with our specialists that you can download here.
However the list is general and must be used as recommendation.
Remember, it is important in your first appointment to inform your practitioner about your full medical and clinical condition, so he/she will be able to give you the best post-injection care recommendations.
After the treatment can I go on with my daily life?
Variofill® for Gluteal Augmentation is an ambulatory treatment.
Nevertheless it must be performed under medical conditions that must guarantee your safety.
Once the treatment is finished, your medical practitioner will recommend a series of post-care instructions based on your medical examination and treatment day and will request you to book an appointment to check the results.
I'm happy with the results. How long do I have to wait to repeat the procedure?
This is limited to your physical and clinical condition as well as the quantity injected in first session. Only your doctor can decide how long you have to wait until next procedure.
Over-corrections and too much volume will result in unnatural and not aesthetic results.
Our follow up shows the no need of a second session during the first 24 months.
But the total quantity needed for your desired results can be injected in different sessions.
